The average moderately active person takes around 7,500 step/day. If you maintain that daily average and live until 80 years of age, you’ll have walked about 216,262,500 steps in your lifetime. Doing the math, the average person with the average stride living until 80 will walk a distance of around 110,000 miles.

Have you ever wondered how far you walk in a day? A year? A lifetime? The average person (moderately active) takes around 7,500 steps/day. A quick off-the-cuff estimate is that the average person walks enough in their lifetime to circumnavigate the globe, assuming that you're talking about distance as the crow flies. The online estimate seems to be that the average person walks about 5 miles per day, so now we're talking about 125,000 miles, which is certainly enough to walk across the globe, providing you can cross continents by walking in some fashion.

I think the average person drives around 15,000 miles a year, and from the time they first get their license at around age 16, they drive for probably 60 years. Judging by that the figure is probably somewhere around 900,000 miles. Of course if they drive longer in life that figure may go up slightly, but that's a pretty good average amount.
